Motel Mexicola is throwing a full-venue, full-throttle celebration at both Seminyak and
Canggu locations for Mexican Independence Day.
Traditionally, on the evening of September 15, Mexico enters into a highly symbolic and
festive prelude to Independence Day. ‘Día de La Independencia’ is celebrated in Mexico
where streets explode with mariachi, flags wave from rooftops, fireworks fill the air, tacos line
the sidewalks, and tequila is raised to the sky. At around 11 p.m., the ringing of the historic
bell is the moment that marks the true beginning of Independence Day. It’s not just a date on
the calendar; it’s a living, breathing celebration of resilience, culture, and joy. Raw. Loud.
Unapologetic.
For them, it’s not only about history, it’s about owning their story, embracing every flaw and
every flair. That’s why Motel Mexicola goes big: colour, rebellion, connection, food, music,
and glorious chaos.
This year’s Independence Day menu is their culinary love letter to the Gulf of Mexico, the
cradle of spice, smoke, and soul. From Yucatán heat to Veracruz, each dish carries
generations of recipes, stories of resistance, and the spirit of celebration. This isn’t just food.
It’s a cultural memory, grilled and served hot.
They’re serving ‘Gulf of Mexico’ cuisine, not because they changed, but because borders did.
This is their culinary middle finger to walls, bans, and nationalism. This menu is for thepeople. It’s for history. It’s for flavour that migrates, transforms, and refuses to be colonised.
Dinner kicks off the celebration, and that’s not all… La Lotería will be played during dinner
from 7-8PM! Get ready for a lively round of Mexico’s beloved game of chance. It’s like
‘bingo’, but way more fun, and with a cultural twist. Listen closely, mark your cards, and get
ready for the chaos, with grand prizes to be WON!
Oh, and there will be 50K margaritas and micheladas from 5-8pm – so join them for the
festivities early!
