Umana Bali sits on the clifftop above Melasti Beach in Ungasan, and from early December to the first week of January it runs a festive programme across almost every corner of the resort. There are Christmas dinners at Commune and Oliverra, parties on the sand at Uma Beach House, cocktail nights at Pad Bar, spa and yoga sessions, a daily kids’ club schedule, and barbecues served at your own villa if you’d rather skip the crowd. Here’s the full list, sorted by venue. Reservations are required for everything, and prices marked ++ are subject to 21% tax and service.
Tree Lighting Ceremony
The season opens in the lobby with the switching on of this year’s tree, made with Komang Tri Jewelry. It’s a spiral of golden fish, seashells and white capiz, with the jeweller’s star on top. There are carols, and Santa turns up to say hello to the kids.

Anjali Kids Club
From 21 December to 8 January, the kids’ club starts each day with a free half-hour stretch at 9am, followed by an hour-long activity from 9.30am. The activity changes daily: Christmas crafts, gamelan lessons, origami, puppet making, flower crafts, colouring and basic Bahasa Indonesia. On Christmas Eve, Santa visits from 10am to 11am with a gift for each child, also free.
Gifts for Resort Guests
If you’re staying over the holidays, four small gifts are delivered to your villa: a carved Balinese ornament on Christmas Eve, a box of Balinese sweets on Christmas Day, sea salt and essential oil for a bath at turndown on New Year’s Eve, and a Tridatu bracelet on New Year’s Day.
