Virgin Beach is one of East Bali’s most beautiful coastal secrets — a quiet stretch of soft white sand tucked between gentle waves and rows of coconut palms. It’s far less crowded than Bali’s southern beaches, making it an ideal spot for travellers who want a slower, more relaxed day by the sea.
A handful of simple beachfront warungs line the shore, serving cold drinks, fresh coconuts, and grilled seafood straight from the fire. The atmosphere is easygoing and unpolished in the best way, the kind of place where you can rent a lounger, settle in with a book, and let the hours drift by.
For those who like to explore, the rocky edges of the bay offer surprisingly good snorkelling, with colourful reef fish moving through patches of coral. Getting here requires a short drive down a bumpy access road, but the reward is a peaceful beach that feels wonderfully removed from Bali’s busier coastlines.
Location: Karangasem, East Bali
Tip: Arrive before midday for the calmest water and the best chance at a front-row lounger.
