Sanur’s finally waking up. While Canggu, Seminyak, and Ubud have been battling it out for brunch dominance, Rue quietly slid into the scene and gave the sleepy East Coast a proper reason to get out of bed.
This all-day spot nails the crossover between café comfort and lunch bender. You start with a buttery choco croissant, feel smug with a Moroccan salad, then find knee-deep in fried chicken and lava-stone pizza without even meaning to. Rue is that kind of place, casual, easygoing, but with enough kitchen cred to keep you coming back.
The space is soft, modern, and made for moodboards. There’s a kids’ area, an outdoor terrace, and cozy corners for laptop people and gossip catch-ups. It’s family-friendly without being chaotic, cool without trying too hard, and yes, there’s a claw machine. The kitchen keeps things interesting with weekly promos, like 2-for-1 pizzas on select nights, crispy chicken combos, and loaded salads for a steal. If you’re celebrating something (or nothing), they also do whole cakes on pre-order. Rue is the brunch spot Sanur didn’t know it was missing, now it’s the one everyone’s crossing town for.
