Longtime isn’t just another modern Asian spot in Canggu, it’s the one people actually return to, again and again. The kind of place that turns “just a quick bite” into an hours-long hangout. Chef Tyler Preston (Chin Chin Melbourne, Bang Bang Byron Bay) brings a sharp mix of Asian comfort and creativity to the table, from the cult-fave Curious Burrata served with house-made roti to the crispy prawn toast that ruins all others for you.
But ask any regular, and they’ll tell you about the pork belly bites with tamarind caramel. Crispy, sticky, sweet-sour, piled high with herbs and heat, the kind of dish you’d sit through Canggu traffic for. Add in the Massaman Beef Cheek, Vietnamese-style Lamb Terrine, and Crispy Duck, and you start to understand why the menu has a loyal following.
Cocktails are part of the show here, thanks to Vitali, Beverage Manager slash crowd-charmer. His Longshot (don’t knock it back) and house-made lemongrass gimlet are just a few of the reasons your dinner might turn into a party.
The vibe walks that line between neighbourhood hangout and destination spot. DJs keep the tempo up after dark, the dining room is slick but warm (think leather booths, polished wood, open kitchen), and the crowd is always a mix – expats, locals, industry folk, first-timers who’ll be back.
By day, it’s chill. By night, it’s lit. Longtime has quickly become a ritual in Berawa, and once you’ve had a taste, or a cocktail – you’ll get why.
