Bonito has become one of Umalas’ most reliable answers to the question: Where should we go for a date night? The restaurant pairs a softly lit, intimate atmosphere with a menu shaped by Chef Sean and his team, who have a clear instinct for what people enjoy eating. It’s refined without being rigid, romantic without trying too hard, and consistently delivers meals that feel personal.
The evening begins with warm, freshly baked bread — a small detail that sets the tone. Highlights from the menu include the Black Tacos with smoked salmon and soy-glazed cucumber, crisp potatoes done exceptionally well, and the Salmon Brioche that balances richness and lightness. The Tuna Tartare and Tagliolini al Tonno are beautifully composed, while the Cacio & Pepe and Dentice (red snapper) show the kitchen’s confidence in classic flavour profiles. The Roasted Octopus is another standout, cooked with precision and depth.
Desserts lean toward comfort with a refined touch. The Pineapple Sorbet is clean and refreshing, while the Apple Tart and Carrot Cake close the meal on a warm, familiar note. Petits fours arrive as a thoughtful final gesture.
Bonito offers the kind of dining experience that turns a simple evening out into a memory — attentive service, well-executed dishes, and an atmosphere that invites you to take your time.
Tip: Book for dinner and request a table by the window or courtyard. It captures the restaurant’s cosy charm best in the evening.

I love the food there! My tip would be sitting at the chef's table and have a chat while looking at them preparing your food. Trust me, you'll love it!
