Experience Bali’s ancestral spirit at the Tenganan Pegringsingan Culture Festival, a three-day celebration of Bali Aga traditions from 21–23 June. The main highlight is Mekare-kare or Perang Pandan — a sacred ritual where village men duel with thorny pandan leaves to honor the God of War, Indra.
Set to the haunting sound of Selonding gamelan, this ceremonial battle symbolizes bravery, unity, and devotion. Visitors will also witness Manyunan, a traditional swing ritual by young women in gringsing, and get a closer look at gringsing weaving, Bali’s rare double ikat textile.
