Bali’s Best Spas: A Luxury Wellness Guide for 2026

bali spa

Bali’s spas are known for combining natural beauty, deep relaxation, and some of the most refined wellness experiences in Southeast Asia. Luxury in Bali is no longer about indulgence or escapism—it’s about nourishing inner care, immersive rituals, and slowing down. From jungle-framed spas to cliffside sanctuaries, these destinations blend ancient traditions with modern sophistication, offering transformative experiences that go far beyond a simple massage. Whether it’s moonlit rituals, healing sound baths, or high-tech wellness fused with Balinese wisdom, this curated guide reveals the island’s most exquisite spa escapes—the ones worth returning to, again and again. GREEN IS THE NEW GLOW AT ANANTARA UBUD RESORT

New to Ubud, this lovely Anantara property offers a lush and adventurous retreat—a serene contrast to its Uluwatu clifftop resort. Surrounded by emerald jungle, its haven leans fully into nature-inspired wellness. Like the rest of the property, the spa celebrates local culture and creativity with an expansive menu of Balinese, Indonesian, and holistic healing rituals. What truly sets it apart is the embrace of wellness as an adventure. My session with respected healer Bapak Patha was energetically balancing, followed by the Taksu Massage—a flowing fusion of Japanese Shiatsu, Hawaiian Lomi Lomi, and traditional Balinese bodywork to soothe away any stressors.

What We Love: Every suite features deep soaking tubs with jungle views. The spa’s integration of local wisdom, natural elements, and world-class comfort makes this more than a wellness escape—it’s a radiant return to self.

FLOW INTO WELLNESS AT COMO CANGGU

Wellness pulses through every corner at this beachside sanctuary. From sunrise to sunset, COMO Canggu delivers soul-nourishing experiences – starting with exceptional Pilates Reformer classes in their sleek studio and fitness gym and Glow Juice Bar, your go-to for vibrant soups, cold-pressed juices, salads, and guilt-free desserts. The COMO Shambhala Spa offers Asian-inspired therapies and facials using Guinot and Sundari products, with the signature COMO Shambhala Massage as a must-try. They offer a dynamic activity schedule to fitness-focused travellers. This is more than a wellness resort—it’s a destination you’ll want to return to again and again.

What We Love: Don’t miss their legendary Sunday Brunch (first Sunday of each month)—an island-favourite feast that’s also dog-friendly, with treats for your furry friend.

SOUL WORK, BALI STYLE: JIWA UPGRADES WELLNESS AT CONRAD BALI

Jiwa Spa at Conrad Bali in Nusa Dua has upgraded its spa to offer a wellness menu that combines ancient traditions and modern therapies. Built around three pillars—JIWA Spa, JIWA Strength, and JIWA Sense—it’s a full-body, full-soul refresh rooted in local healing and mindful movement.

The highlight for us? JIWA Sense. Designed to awaken your senses and calm your nervous system, a blend of ancient ritual with modern therapy. I experienced First Light Movement—part of the JIWA Spa program—a slow, multi-phase reset using iSun organic products from the mountains of Oregon. A soothing body wrap, deep massage, and a grounding hand ritual left me restored. Then came SWAY, a signature offering from the JIWA Sense menu, a one-of-a-kind sleep therapy where you’re rocked in a hammock, wrapped in weighted blankets, and gently massaged to the sounds of nature. Meditative, womb-like, and honestly, kind of magic.

What We Love: With a resident healer on board, JIWA goes beyond the average spa experience with moon rituals, sound baths, and sleep therapy that is deeply effective and profoundly moving.

AWAKEN INNER PEACE AT THE SACRED RIVER SPA, FOUR SEASONS SAYAN, UBUD

Nestled in the lush heart of Ubud’s Ayung River Valley, the reimagined Sacred River Spa is a sanctuary where ancient Balinese traditions meet the mystical duality of sekala and niskala—the seen and unseen. On a recent visit, I experienced two of their newest rituals. First, the ‘Holistic Buccal Sculpt & Lift Facial’, a divine intraoral massage developed with Australian organic skincare brand Synthesis Organics www.synthesisorganics.com. Then came Restu Bumi, a two-hour soul-soothing journey that blends a grounding moss agate massage with the vibrational power of Balinese gong therapy. Also on offer: the meditative Sacred Nap, where you’re cradled in an aerial silk hammock and guided into yogic sleep; and the deeply restorative Hot Stone Yoga—gentle postures paired with warm volcanic stones.

What We Love: The expanded Chakra Ceremonies—seven energy-balancing rituals aligned with each chakra. My new wellness mission? To experience every one of them, one chakra at a time.

EXPERIENCE THE SOUND OF STILLNESS AT ROYAL KIRANA SPA IN UBUD

Tucked within the lush grounds of the Royal Pita Maha resort, Royal Kirana Spa is one of the most exquisite spas I’ve experienced in Bali—so much so, I chose it as a location for my Ultimate Spa Book photoshoot. Treatments take place in private, two-storey villas, some with their own steam rooms and sweeping views of the Ayung River. It feels more like a sanctuary than a spa. My tip? Book the two-hour Royal Ritual—a luxurious signature therapy designed to melt you into deep relaxation. Every element, from the aromatics to the ambient soundscape, is meticulously curated. This is a place to linger, not rush.

What We Love: After your treatment, drift through the Spa Garden—an enchanting hideaway of hot and cold pools, herbal steam rooms, and saunas, all framed by tropical greenery and connected by winding white-stone paths dotted with sculptures and blooms.

WELLNESS FROM SUNRISE TO SUNSET AT THE ASA MAIA ULUWATU

Wellness finds its home at The Asa Maia, my favourite boutique wellness hotel, tucked in the lush jungle of Uluwatu. Intimate in size but expansive in experience, every element is beautifully curated to elevate our body and mind. Wellness facilities include a meditation shala, 24-hour gym, a saltwater pool, a Himalayan-salt infrared sauna, and a purpose-built contrast therapy pool. I love the communal rustic dining here – nourishing vegan-pescatarian cuisine that connects guests in meaningful ways. A highlight for me was the guided breathwork session and fire-side contrast therapy sessions that felt both grounding and transformational. At Asa Maia, wellness is as intentional as it is immersive.

What we Love: Healing rituals by firelight, shared meals under the stars, and a rhythm that invites you to slow all the way down.

HEALING STONES MASSAGE AT THE BULGARI SPA ULUWATU

Every time I’m in Bali, I somehow find myself back at The Bulgari—for good reason. Set high on the Uluwatu cliffs, the spa is pure luxury with a view, starting from its intricate Javanese joglo entrance that is so quintessentially Indonesian. This visit, I treated myself to their Healing Stones massage that was executed with effortless elegance – deep, dreamy, and done to perfection. They also offer Biologique Recherche facials (a high-end brand delivering French precision and potency).

What we Love: The Bulgari Bar perched 160 meters above the ocean for Aperol Spritzes and Oak-aged Negronis, followed by an Italian-inspired meal at II Ristorante, because with wellness, it’s all about balance.

REWILD WITH FULL MOON RITUALS AT CAPELLA UBUD

For those in search of spiritual rejuvenation and adventure, Capella Ubud beckons – a secluded, luxury 23-tented retreat nestled in Bali’s pristine rainforest, designed by visionary architect Bill Bensley. At the heart is the mystical Auriga Spa featuring three opulent spa tents and ‘The Armoury’ 2-story tent where jungle boot camps and yoga unfold. Treatments aligned with the lunar cycles are beautifully executed by skilled therapists using local ingredients. For pure indulgence, book the Full Moon Ritual where you are pampered with a divine massage, a body scrub and a marma point facial. Alternatively, embrace purification through a traditional ‘Melukat’ purification ritual led by a Balinese priest. The feeling of serenity will linger long after you have departed. Check out the spa menu here

What we love: Don’t miss indulging in the extraordinary Rijsttafel (a magnificent Indonesian feast) at Mads Lounge – undeniably one of Ubud’s most incredible destination dining experiences, and an exquisite finale to your rewilding journey.

JOURNEY INTO THE HIGHER REALMS AT THE FOUR SEASONS HEALING VILLAGE SPA IN JIMBARAN

The Healing Village Spa at the Four Seasons resort is one of Bali’s finest for uniquely curated treatments that honour one physically, emotionally and energetically. Treatments weave ancient wisdom and modern wellness with divine blessings featured in all the offerings. A highlight is the ‘Illume Room’ enhanced with light, sound and colour frequencies to elevate your balance and bliss. Be taken into the quantum healing portal as crystals, poultices and warm aromatic oils applied to the heart chakra evoke deep awakening. Emerge transformed. Check the menu here.

What we love: Why not pair a transformative TDA facial or their signature Venus Freeze with the infamous invisible haircut (The Method) at the onsite Rossano Ferretti salon?

IMMERSE IN THE RESTORATIVE POWERS OF ANCIENT JAVA AT APURVA SPA AT KEMPINSKI BALI

The Apurva Spa at the oceanfront Kempinski Bali embodies old-world Javanese architecture and is a rare opportunity to experience authentic ancient rituals in the grandest setting. Dive into Indonesia’s ancient healing and holistic rituals with a menu based on the age-old proverb ‘rupasampat wahyabiantara’ that translates as ‘true beauty is achieved when outer beauty is in harmony with inner beauty’. Ancient rituals are recreated using exquisite oils, spices, and herbs. Additionally, the spa offers Balinese blessings, sound healing, daily yoga, and a hair and beauty salon. Check out the spa menu here.

What we love: The spa treatment prices here are mind-soothingly affordable for such a luxurious setting. Post-treatment, indulge in one of the resort’s standout dining venues—from refined Japanese cuisine and decadent dim sum feasts to Koral, Bali’s first underwater restaurant, now serving a menu infused with local flavours.

EXPERIENCE A LUXURY TURKISH HAMMAM AT JUMEIRAH IN ULUWATU

Located on the beachfront on the Uluwatu coast, Jumeirah Bali is a stunning testament to the architecture of the Majapahit era. A high point of the resort is the Talise Spa, which features a majestic Turkish Hammam (the first of its kind in Bali). Inside the steamy chamber, relax on a heated marble slab as you are gently exfoliated with traditional Kessa gloves, salts and clay, then soothed to bliss with a therapeutic massage. The innovative menu also features Sound Healing Therapy, Balinese Tai Chi and a Hair Bar. Check the Spa menu here.

What we love: Treatments are prescribed based on one’s unique Balinese numerology. A highlight is a gift bracelet corresponding to your unique ruling chakra, a beautiful reminder of your Jumeirah experience. Finish your treatment with an incredible cliffside dining experience at Akasa.

EXPERIENCE SPA SOPHISTICATION AT THE LEGIAN SEMINYAK

If you’re after world-class treatments in a setting that’s as serene as it is stunning, The Legian Seminyak delivers—and then some. This iconic beachfront boutique hotel is home to one of Bali’s most elegant spas, where wellness feels both elevated and effortless. My pick? The 2-hour Earth Ritual—a deeply grounding experience that combines Tibetan Kunye massage, enriched with exotic oils, warm Himalayan salt poultices, and a marma-point facial that’ll leave you absolutely blissed out. Whether you’re in the mood for a one-day recharge or a full weekend retreat, you’ll find the perfect combo of nourishing meals, movement, hydrotherapy, fitness, and spa—all guided by a team of top-tier therapists. The Legian Seminyak is an unmissable destination. Explore the full spa menu here.

What we love: No need to rush out after your treatment, instead explore the subterranean wellness lounge, a deeply peaceful space with hot and cold pools, a sauna, a steam room and a relaxation space.

SOAK UP SERENITY AT THE SPA AT MAYA UBUD

When you seek an authentic luxury Bali experience where you are wrapped up in soothing massage, flower baths and Balinese hospitality, The Spa at Maya Ubud promises one of the most enchanting experiences on the island. Situated along the River Petanu, the spa features several open-air pavilions nestled into the jungle with birdsong and flowing water as your ‘spa music’. Be tempted by the classic menu featuring deeply unwinding journeys. The signature Maya massage is simply exquisite – as is the sensation of soaking in a bath filled with fragrant flower petals. Check out the spa menu here.

What we love: There’s an elegance at Maya Ubud that feels soul-enriching. Take time to meander around the grounds of the 10-hectare resort, savour coconut water or cocktails at the Tree Bar, and soak up the glorious sunset. Your spa experience at Maya Ubud will be everlasting.

TRY A FIRE & ICE RITUAL AT KARMA SPA AT KARMA KANDARA

There are few locations in Bali as dreamy as Karma Spa at Karma Kandara to refresh and regenerate your being. The centrepiece of the spa is the Ocean Spa Suite, which features a glass-wall shower, an Infrared Sauna and the newly launched Magnesium Ice Bath. Feel liberated as you journey between the invigorating hot and cold therapies.
