From Reformer to Megaformer - 5 of our favourite fitness studios in Bali.
From classic Pilates to variations that will make you quiver and sweat, Pilates is now one of the hottest fitness regimes on the planet. The question of mat vs reformer comes up a lot, and Bali offers a great mix of both. Nowadays you’ll find studios offering contemporary twists on Pilates but most importantly you want to find a studio where the teachers are trained well and have the experience to get to the core of what Pilates was designed to do – exercise the small muscles that keep us standing tall, focus on the mind/body connection and stretch all your muscles.
Whether you love the classic Pilates or want to try a twist, Bali has a range of studios that will seamlessly flow into your practice. Stand taller, work your core, tone your arms and firm up that butt – it’s not only about looking better, it’s also great training for the mind. Getting all the moves right takes practice, but you’ll soon see the results if you stick to it. No sweat, right?
The Bali Food & Travel team are Pilates regulars, so we wanted to share our favourites to get you started or take your regular practice to the next level. Progress over perfection is what we say.
Sarah: “I love classic Pilates, and Vianca, the owner of Pilates Plus, is one of Bali’s most experienced teachers. Her warm and nurturing style is key for me, and I’m now confident enough to work with some of the other excellent trainers who offer classes at this studio. I started as a beginner and have seen the results in an astoundingly short time. The group classes are small, with a maximum of 6 people, and we often mix it up with mat and reformers. The studio is filled with natural light, with well-maintained equipment set up to make the most of your practice.
Aside from the physical demands, Pilates takes focus, and I’ve found that in the hour I spend there, I am totally present. It’s true what they say about Pilates, within 8 classes I could see and feel the difference, and I feel like I’ve grown taller. Since starting this practice, I have fallen in love with Pilates all over again, it’s the most civilised way to get in your best shape. Bali Pilates Plus offers a range of classes from alignment, core control, and strength and sculpting classes. They also offer teacher training for the next generation of Pilates trainers. SAIA Pilates is a beautifully designed, modern studio with locations in both Umalas and Canggu. Open seven days a week, it offers a consistent schedule of high-quality reformer Pilates classes in a calming, aesthetic space. What sets SAIA apart is its top-of-the-line equipment; every reformer is brand new. Every class feels intentional, with instructors checking your form and guiding you through a strong, burn-worthy session that leaves your legs shaking.
Whether you are new to Pilates or already hooked, the teaching style here is clear, supportive, and perfectly challenging. Instructors are engaging in the best way — correcting your form, guiding each move, and making sure you’re working safely and effectively. You’re never left guessing.
This one’s a gem. A sister studio to Power + Revive, Revive + Pilates has always been one of my go-to spots in Bali. You’ll find them in Canggu and Umalas — and exciting news: they’re soon opening in Melbourne, Australia!
I’ve done tons of classes here with almost every instructor, and let me tell you — they never miss. The vibe is always warm and supportive. Instructors really check in with you throughout the session to make sure you’re feeling good and pushing safely.
What really sets this place apart? Their reformer machines are a chef’s kiss — super comfy, smooth, and fully equipped. Plus, the class variety is top-tier: Sweatformer, All Levels, Gluteformer, Intermediate, Stretch + Flex, Strongformer, and Pre + Postnatal.
Each class is thoughtfully designed to target different areas and goals, making it easy to build a well-rounded Pilates routine that actually works. Trust me, it’s a full package if you’re aiming for that lean, strong, sculpted body!

If you’re picturing a studio where everyone shows up looking like a Pinterest Pilates board (in the best way possible) — welcome to Your Daily Reformer Pilates. Located right in the heart of Canggu, this studio brings good vibes and good lighting.
It’s clean, bright, and equipped with 12 reformer machines, making it ideal whether you’re coming solo or with a friend. What I love most? The instructors are super encouraging and really make you feel energised, even on those sluggish days.
And yes, this studio gets bonus points for its location — tons of cute cafes and matcha latte spots nearby for your post-class reward 🫶
Fun fact: They also offer a 5-day intensive Mat + Reformer Pilates Teacher Training if you’re thinking about getting certified. (I haven’t done it myself, but it’s definitely on my radar!)
If you’re looking to level up from traditional Pilates, Elevate Former is where the game changes. It’s Bali’s first hugeformer studio, and yes — it’s exactly as intense as it sounds (in the best way possible). The hugeformer machine is a modern take on reformer Pilates, designed for strength training using SRT — Slow Resistance Training. Think of it as Pilates’ stronger, sweatier cousin.
When I first signed up, I honestly thought, “I do Pilates every week — I got this.” Spoiler alert: I was humbled. This class is all about control, precision, and pushing past your limits — and just when you think you’re done, you realise the burn is only getting started (in a good way, I promise).
They offer three levels — All Levels, Moderate, and Advanced — so you can ease in or dive deep, depending on where you’re at. The instructors are super supportive and really tune into the class. Since these sessions are designed to challenge your strength, they also give great modifications and options depending on what your body needs that day.
If you’re ready to feel strong, shaky, and totally empowered, this one’s for you. It’s not your typical Pilates class… It’s a full-body wake-up call.
There’s something incredibly grounding about classic Pilates, and Bali Pilates Plus nails it. Owned by Vianca, one of the island’s most experienced and respected teachers, this bright, welcoming studio in Seminyak is where I rediscovered my love for the practice.
Vianca’s warm, nurturing approach helped me build confidence from day one. Her teaching is precise but never intimidating — a huge plus when you’re just starting out. Over time, I’ve felt comfortable branching out and training with the other excellent instructors on the team. The group classes are kept small, capped at six people, which means you’re always getting hands-on attention. Some sessions focus on the reformer, others on the mat — and often a mix of both.
The space itself is a dream: filled with natural light and well-maintained equipment, it’s designed to keep you focused and present. And that’s the beauty of it — for that one hour, I’m totally tuned in. They say you’ll feel a difference in eight classes. I did. I swear I’ve grown taller.
Bali Pilates Plus also offers a range of alignment, strength, and sculpting classes, as well as teacher training for those ready to take it to the next level. If you’re looking for a mindful, smart, and beautifully structured way to feel strong, this is your place.
